Size is not much of an issue as much as to ensure it would not exceed 150 watts per bulb. You can purchase replacement bulbs from us under SKU16273

it does come with the near infrared bulb. The unit produces a relaxing heat ideal for near infrared lamp therapy. It is not an LED

I purchased a different lamp on Amazon, but I returned it because the timer made a tic tock sound as the timer was winding down. The sound drove me crazy as I was trying to relax under the lamp. Does this lamp make any sound when running?
