California Proposition 65

Proposition 65, officially the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, is a law that requires warnings be provided to California consumers when they might be exposed to chemicals identified by California as causing cancer or reproductive toxicity. The warnings are intended to help California consumers make informed decisions about their exposures to these chemicals from the products they use. The California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) administers the Proposition 65 program and publishes the listed chemicals, which includes more than 850 chemicals. In August 2016, OEHHA adopted new regulations, effective on August 30, 2018, which change the information required in Proposition 65 warnings.

Steamer Safety

For Professional Use Only. All products are made to be used by Trained Professionals in a Professional environment only.

It is important to operate any equipment safely to avoid potential dangers. As the operator, it is your responsibility to ensure the safe operation of this equipment. Please carefully read and follow all warnings, safety signs, and instructions provided with or attached to the equipment. It is crucial not to remove, disable, deface, or render any of the safety devices or warnings on this equipment inoperable. If any safety devices or warnings have been tampered with, do not use this equipment!

For this 120-volt equipment, make sure to use a grounded outlet and do not modify the plug. Always wear appropriate safety attire, including eye protection and rubber insulated gloves.

STEAMER CAUTION: The nozzle needs to be at a 45-degree angle and at least 12-inches away from skin. The nozzle cannot be completely facing down. Do not position nozzle above skin/face.

Steam is hot. Never direct steam towards anyone or attempt to connect or disconnect the steam pan while the steamer is plugged in. Unplug the steamer before servicing, filling, or transporting. Keep children away from the steamer at all times. Never leave the steamer unattended during operation.

Operating Instructions:
  1. Check the steamer to ensure it is empty of water. If not, empty all water.
  2. Add one gallon of water, preferably distilled water. Securely replace the fill cap, but do not over-tighten. (The steamer will produce steam for approximately one hour with one gallon of water.)
  3. Attach the steam hose to the top of the unit. Uncoil the steam hose and lay it flat.
  4. Plug the steamer into a 120-volt, 15-amp grounded outlet. Do not use an extension cord. Place the steam pan into a clean bucket or paint pan until the steamer reaches the desired temperature and starts producing steam (approximately 15 to 20 minutes).
  5. After approximately one hour of steaming, check the water level gauge. Unplug the steamer and remove the fill cap. Replenish the water to the proper level. Exercise caution when removing the cap from a steamer that has been in use, as hot steam may escape from the fill pipe. Use warm water and never pour cold water into a hot steamer.
  6. Do not let the steamer run out of water. If it does, unplug it and allow approximately 15 minutes for it to cool down. After the steamer has cooled down, refill it with water and press the reset button located inside the finger hole on the service door. Never pour cold water into a hot steamer.
  7. When hot water starts to accumulate in the steam pan, carefully empty it into a bucket and dispose of it properly.

It is essential to allow the steamer to cool down completely before draining and returning it to the rental facility.

If there are any concerns about the operation or safety of the equipment, do not use it! Instead, contact customer service for assistance.

Failure to follow these instructions may lead to potential injury.

Steamer Maintenance:
  1. Never put essential oils or herbs directly into the water Essential oils are highly active. When dropped directly into a closed jar with boiling water, they can cause excessive spitting of water or, even worse, clog the steamer or cause the glass to break from the pressure.
  2. When preheating the steamer, do not leave the room unattended. Forgetting about it may cause the water levels to run too low and potentially shatter the glass. Always ensure that the water levels are kept above the safety line marked above the element on the glass jar.
