System - The high frequency current is a characterized by a high rate of oscillation and is also referred to as Tesla Current. High frequency can be used for facial treatments and scalp treatments. The primary action of this current is thermal, or heat-producing. Because of its rapid oscillation, there are no muscular contractions. The physiological effects are either stimulating or soothing, depending on the method of application.

Applications with High Frequency

• Direct High Frequency – germicidal, drying and healing. The esthetician holds the electrode and works in circular motions 3 to 5 minutes. Use directly on dry skin or lay dry gauze over face and work. The current will have a more stimulating effect when the current is applied over a dry cloth.

• Indirect High Frequency – known as Viennese massage, relaxation, toning and stimulating effect on the skin. The client holds the electrode while the esthetician massages the area being treated.
